Lucy lives in the village of Taraganga, located in the Garu-Tempane district of northern Ghana. In recent years, Lucy has experienced increasing challenges due to the changing climate. Less rainfall causes severe problems in the region, as majority of people are dependent on rain for farming and their daily water supply. In addition, many families face major challenges with poverty and disease that help reduce their capacity to adapt to climate change. Fortunately, CARE has been able to help Lucy and her village through their climate adaptation project ALP – Adaptation Learning Program. The purpose of ALP is to develop innovative community-based adaptation approaches and strategies and thereby increase the

capacity of vulnerable families to adapt to the new climate conditions.
