Poko resides in Farfar, a village in northern Ghana, where the impact of climate change has grown more severe in recent years. With reduced rainfall, the area faces significant difficulties, as most people rely on seasonal rains for agriculture and essential water supplies. Moreover, widespread poverty and health challenges make it harder for many families to adapt to the changing climate.
Fortunately, CARE has been able to support Poko and her village through the Adaptation Learning Program (ALP), a climate adaptation initiative. ALP aims to strengthen vulnerable families’ ability to cope with evolving climate conditions by introducing innovative, community-driven adaptation strategies.
